STAGES OF UPSC PREPARATION
Preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) is often described as a marathon rather than a sprint. It demands consistency, strategy, and resilience. The examination comprises three distinct levels—Prelims, Mains, and the Interview (Personality Test)—but the preparation cycle itself can be broken down into multiple stages to ensure steady progress. Each stage has its own priorities, resources, and milestones
1.Understanding the Exam: Familiarize yourself with the UPSC examination pattern—Prelims (objective), Mains (descriptive), and Interview. Study the syllabus in detail for both Prelims and Mains.
2.Developing Conceptual Clarity: Focus on the basics of all major subjects. NCERT textbooks (Classes VI–XII) in History, Geography, Polity, Economics, and Science are particularly crucial.
3.Reading Newspapers and Current Affairs: Begin reading a standard newspaper (e.g., The Hindu or The Indian Express) daily to develop an understanding of national and international issues.
