Pressure Groups

Organized groups of individuals or organizations aiming to influence public policy and decision-making to benefit their members or causes.

Key Characteristics

1.Organized Structure: Pressure groups have a formal or informal organization with defined membership and leadership.

2.Specific Interests: They focus on specific issues, interests, or causes such as business interests, labour rights, environmental protection, or social justice.

3.Non-Electoral: Unlike political parties, pressure groups do not seek to gain political power or contest elections but aim to influence those who do.

4.Advocacy and Lobbying: They use various methods to advocate for their causes, including lobbying, public campaigns, and legal actions.
