FORCE AND LAWS OF MOTION

Balanced and Unbalanced Forces

In our everyday life, we encounter different kinds of forces acting on objects. Understanding these forces is crucial to comprehending how and why objects move or remain at rest. Forces can be categorized into two main types: balanced and unbalanced forces.

Balanced Forces

Balanced forces occur when the forces acting on an object are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. When forces are balanced, they cancel each other out, resulting in no change in the object's motion. In other words, balanced forces do not cause an object to start moving, stop moving, or change its speed or direction.

Key Characteristics of Balanced Forces

1.Equal in Magnitude: The forces acting on the object are of the same strength.

2.Opposite in Direction: The forces act in exactly opposite directions.

3.No Change in Motion: The object remains in its current state of motion. If it is at rest, it stays at rest; if it is moving, it continues to move at the same speed in the same direction (uniform motion).
