OVERVIEW

From landless labourers in villages to crowded slums in cities, the issue of poverty is widespread. The statistic that every fifth person in India is poor underscores the gravity of the problem. In fact, India has the largest concentration of poor people globally.

MULTIPLE DIMENSIONS OF POVERTY

Poverty isn’t just about lack of money; it has multifaceted implications:

1.Basic Needs: Poverty is synonymous with hunger, lack of shelter, and the inability to afford basic needs.

2.Education: The poor often cannot send their children to school, perpetuating a cycle of illiteracy and lack of opportunity.

4.Sanitation And Clean Water: Access to clean drinking water and proper sanitation facilities is often limited.

5.Regular Employment: Stable jobs with decent wages are hard to come by for those in poverty.
