In contemporary times, attending school is viewed as a fundamental and essential phase in a person’s life.
With an increasing number of children enrolling in schools every year, it has become a norm and expectation for all children to receive formal education.
Historically, the skills of reading and writing were privileges, reserved for a select few in society.
Majority of children learned trade or crafts by observing and assisting their families or elders, acquiring skills that were deemed essential for their livelihoods.
However, this educational structure was notably gender-biased.
