OUR COUNTRY: INDIA
India is a vast and geographically diverse country located in South Asia. It holds a significant place in the world due to its unique geographical features, cultural diversity, and historical significance.
India is cradled by nature’s beauty and majesty, surrounded on three sides by vast water bodies. To the north, the formidable Himalayan Mountain range stands as a natural barrier. This mountain range not only dictates climatic conditions but also plays a significant role in India’s cultural and spiritual narratives. The Arabian Sea, lying to the west, the Bay of Bengal to the east, and the Indian Ocean to the south, give India its extensive coastline, influencing its trade, climate, and culture.
Covering an impressive area of around 3.28 million sq. km., India showcases vast geographical diversity. From the cold desert landscapes of Ladakh in the north to the tropical shores of Kanyakumari in the south, the country extends over 3,200 km. Similarly, its width spans from the easternmost regions of Arunachal Pradesh to the arid landscapes of Kuchchh in the west, covering about 2,900 km.
India is a mosaic of various landforms, each adding to the country’s beauty and richness. From deserts to plains, plateaus to coasts, and islands, India’s topographical diversity is a subject of study and admiration. This variety in physical features also contributes to a rich array of climates, vegetation, and wildlife.
