Types Of Shrines

1.Sandhara: These temples do not have a pradakshinapatha (circumambulatory path) around the sanctum.

2.Nirandhara: These include a pradakshinapatha.

3.Sarvatobhadra: These are temples that can be accessed from all sides.

ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS OF HINDU TEMPLES

1.Sanctum Or Garbhagriha: This “womb-house” is the innermost chamber of the temple where the principal deity’s image or idol is placed. This space is considered the most sacred.
