The Human Eye

The human eye is a highly sophisticated and sensitive organ that allows us to perceive the world in all its vibrant colours and intricate details. Understanding its structure and functions helps us appreciate how we see and identify the various elements of our surroundings.

1.Cornea: The cornea is a transparent, thin membrane that covers the front of the eye. It acts as the eye's outermost lens, contributing significantly to the eye's total optical power by bending incoming light rays.

2.Eyeball: The eyeball is nearly spherical, with a diameter of approximately 2.3 cm. It houses the internal structures responsible for vision.

3.Iris and Pupil

Iris: The iris is a dark, muscular diaphragm located behind the cornea. It controls the size of the pupil.

Pupil: The pupil is the opening in the centre of the iris that regulates the amount of light entering the eye.
