North India's Political Fragmentation

Unlike the Gupta and Harsha’s empires, no single kingdom in North India could unify the entire Ganga Valley.

The Ganga Valley, with its dense population and resources, was crucial for the expansion and control over Gujarat, known for its prosperous seaports and trade.
