The Indian Parliamentary Group (IPG) is an autonomous body formed to foster contacts, coordination, and collaboration among Members of Parliament (MPs) of India. Established in 1949, the IPG plays a pivotal role in promoting parliamentary democracy and facilitating cooperation between the Indian Parliament and other parliaments globally.
Fostering Contacts
1.Inter-Parliamentary Relations: Promote mutual understanding and cooperation among Indian MPs and their counterparts in other countries.
2.Exchange Programs: Facilitate exchange programs, visits, and delegations between the Indian Parliament and other parliaments to share knowledge and best practices.
Promoting Democracy
1.Strengthening Parliamentary Institutions: Support the development and strengthening of parliamentary institutions and democratic processes.
2.Public Awareness: Enhance public awareness about the functioning of the Parliament and the role of MPs.
