Preamble

The Preamble of the Indian Constitution is more than just an introduction. It encapsulates the essence of the Constitution and the guiding principles of the nation

It declares India to be a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, and Democratic Republic. The Preamble emphasizes key values such as Justice (social, economic, and political), Liberty (of thought, expression, belief, faith, and worship), Equality (of status and opportunity), and Fraternity (assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation).

The Preamble acts as a guiding light for interpreting the Constitution and ensures that the fundamental spirit of democracy, secularism, and social justice is preserved.

Written and Detailed Constitution

The Indian Constitution is the longest written constitution in the world. At its inception, it contained 395 articles, 22 parts, and 8 schedules.
