SCHEDULED AND TRIBAL AREAS

Overview

The Scheduled and Tribal Areas in the Indian Constitution are special regions designated to protect the rights and interests of indigenous and tribal populations. These areas have unique cultural, social, and economic characteristics and require special provisions to maintain their identities and promote their welfare and development.

Autonomous District Councils and Regional Councils: These councils have legislative, executive, and judicial powers in certain areas. They help preserve and promote the customs and traditions of the tribal populations.
